Most bios and “about me” pages are about as interesting and insightful as the technical specifications for a used VCR. I wanted to try something different. So I asked my closest friends what they think I do well and how they describe me to others. I had no idea what they would say but I knew it would be brutally honest because like me they are uncompromising, intense, and very much unfiltered.
My friends said that I am relentless at digging in deep to understand and develop a plan to master any task great or small. I suppose that makes sense. I did plan and lead over 600 missions in Iraq followed by four years at the Pentagon. Words like great communicator, instructor, contagious passion and energy were also used frequently. They also said I am a good listener who is great at reading and understanding people. That surprised me because that is not something I think I do all that well. But they do and that means a lot to me.
Outside of my close friends, someone once called me a velvet bulldozer capable of moving anything with either force or finesse. My wife and three daughters would probably agree. I’m a turbo charged, weaponized velvet bulldozer with a soft gooey center ready for my next mission…real estate.
I would encourage you to look me up on your favorite social media and see for yourself what I am all about. The Firehill Group YouTube Channel is a great place to start. I also write articles for my blogs (www.firehillgroup.com andwww.ruggedizeyourlife.com) as well as LinkedIn. And if you’ve read this far, first of all thank you but please take a second and reach out to say hello. I’d really love to hear from you even if just to say you enjoyed my spin on a “bio” page. Thank you and talk to you soon.
